The author's name on the front would indicate an American Author. Text inside is broken English indicating to me a Chinese author or very young person. Evidently no grammer check was performed. Information in some cases is incomplete and somewhat confusing. (Resistor usage is specified, but resistor values are not indicated) Images are evidently greyscale copies of color images. The book is probably usable as the code is provided for individual projects. I ordered the accompanying 37 in 1 sensor kit, but it failed to arrive so I can't prove out the accuracy of the code.
Enjoyed the many sensors covered. Good book for project referencing.Would recommend to those starting out in the Arduino and sensors learning.
Good book!
This is the 3rd, and perhaps the best yet, of the beginner guides for Arduino I've read over the past couple of days. Getting into details about resistors (giving a brief, accurate description of resister color codes) capacitors at an appropriate level for beginners, giving a short but accurate summary of a transistor operation--to give but three examples. Illustrations expand to see details. Downloading, and getting started with sketches is adequately covered. Of course, I have not been able to test any of the 37 examples, however with the included pictures, and the code, this would be a great jumping-off spot to use as boilerplate for your own project. For me, this book is a keeper.
I found this book interchangeable with any number of other getting-started Arduino books. Instructions for physically hooking up devices and some sample code to use, but not much depth of explaining how and why these things work.
This book is well laid out in each of it's tutorials. Each page progresses in an orderly fashion. Each stage of the project is clear and understandable. The writer speaks to the reader in plain language. The range of sensors will give the reader a sound understanding of how an arduino senses and responds.
Just a collection of Chinese data sheets and very little additional information. Not worth the money.
