There are many stand out features. Over 700 relevant illustrations, photos, info graphics, and maps are integrated throughout the book. Book introductions that include important facts about the book, including author, characters, audience, purpose, location, and key stories. Study notes related to the scripture on most pages. It has the typical table of contents, plus an alphabetical table of contents, so people can easily find a book of the Bible. It has an info graphics index which directs readers to the major diagrams, graphs, and tables scattered throughout the book. I have two little girls age 8 and 11 and this bible was a true hit! My girls want this bible but I have decided mommy will read it from front to back then give it to the girls. I have been struggling to comprehend what I read since I was a kid so maybe this bible will help me lol. Over all a HUGE 5 stars our of 5!
I am so pleased with this Bible for our 10 yr old who is learning how to read God's word in his own. The pics are great as well as the life application tid bits. It isn't too "kiddish". One of our favorite features is how each Book is summarized at the beginning to give us an overview about what that particular Book is about, who and when it was written, etc.I highly recommend this for ages 9-15.
The camel pictured on the book's box had me pretty beguiled that I'd be seeing somehow-glossy pictures (that is, of similar quality) at least occassionally in this Bible. I'd forgotten the matte-status of Bible pages. The number and size of pictures is probably the best the designers could manage. However, I'd still take more small pictures than the frequent-enough expounding comments that appear in the spacious margins. If more comments are like one I happened upon here this first week of having it, and mention what "is thought" to be true, I won't appreciate it for my son. Kids are going to take what's presented / woven in beside these scriptures kind of AS scripture. Overall, it's far better than a cartoony Bible. Far, far better.

My sons love this Bible. They are 9 + 7 years old. They say reading has been so much FUN because of the study notes on the side!!
