About the Author
"P N Ananthanarayanan was born in 1924 at Perumkolam, Kerala. After working in the AC&R industry as a service technician for about 10 years at Pune, Mumbai and New Delhi, he joined Voltas Limited. He steadily acquired both practical and theoretical knowledge and the company found him capable of heading their large service organizations at Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi. When he retired from Voltas in 1982, he was heading the entire service operations of the AC&R Division of the company as All India Service and Technical Manager. After retiring from Voltas, he worked for two years at ETA, Dubai, as Technical Advisor and for 10 years with Batliboi & Company Ltd. at Mumbai as a Consultant on HVAC&R. Mr Ananthanarayanan was a certified member of Refrigeration Service Engineers Society, Chicago (USA). He was made an Honorary Life Member of the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) in 1992. ASHRAE (Western India) honoured him in 1999 “In general recognition of pre-eminent professional distinction and continuing dedicated and distinguished serviceâ€. Mr Ananthanarayanan peacefully passed away in December 2010 at Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) where he had settled down with his wife. Till the very last day of his life he had been working tirelessly on updating this book. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Janaki Ananthanarayanan, and a daughter and a son. In 2013, ISHRAE posthumously honoured him by placing him in the HALL OF FAME."
